Biking at Snow Summit, Big Bear, California

The Big bear area of southern California is an oasis of high country surround by desert. The touristy town of Big Bear, that fronts Big bear Lake offers much for the mountain bike of out door enthusiasts, tons of stuff available including bike rentals. As a returning visitor, I hit the trails via Snow Summit Adventure Park. From the lift, approximately 80 miles of single tack and fire roads fan out at the top, by Skyline Drive, a fire road. It would take about 38 hours of bike ride time to cover them all. There are other trails around the lake that are worth exploring.

For this trip I was using my Intense DH bike.

That lake looks great.

On on easy part of a trail. The trails are rated easy to moderate for technical ability and easy to difficult for aerobic rating.

The mountain tops are still snow capped in early summer.

Along the lake near Big Bear Village.
