Biking in Canyonlands National Park, Utah
Located off of Rt191, south of Moab, Utah, remote Canyonlands National Park offers desert scenic beauty, canyons and colorful rock formations.
Its best to visit here in the spring or fall. Summers temperatures are frequently over 100 F.
I was there is September and it was still near 100.
The National Park Service does not want bikers on hiking trails so you will have to stick to paved roads or 4 wheel drive roads like 100 mile long White Rim road.
The Maze offers multi-day biking adventures. There are no single track trails in the park.
Beautiful scenery all around. Biting gnats can detract from the experience.
Campgrounds are frequently full. There is a privately operated one just outside the park, where I stayed.
