Biking in Crested Butte, Colorado

For this ride I went past the town of Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte, on Gothic Road (Rt. 317)and just parked in an area where other bikers were doing the same. The road later becomes Washington Gulch road. It goes over the mountains in the direction of Aspen.

This was any easy road ride. However the elevation and thin air made it a bit of a challenge.

The road goes high into the Rockies and splits into several directions.

Spectacular scenery.

Some of the mountains are over 14,000 tall.

The road runs close to streams and small ponds.

There are many other roads that wander into the mountains, in this area and all through the mountains. Colorado is a biker's paradise.

Time for a break.
