
For 1998, the Grundig/UCI World Championship Mountain Biking Races were held
at Mont Sainte Anne, a ski resort, located northeast of Quebec City. This well attended
event hosted 55 nations competing in cross country, downhill and dual slalom events. The French
ruled, winning both men's and woman's cross country and downhill events. America's win
was Brian Lopes in the dual slolom.
