Biking on the Silver Strand Trail, San Diego, California

San Diego's Silver Strand trail (Bayshore Bikeway) is an approximate 9 mile bike and pedestrian path that runs from Ferry Landing Marketplace to Imperial Beach at sea level. I originally planned to do the entire loop from the city of San Diego south but the bike paths on that route put me into some heavy city traffic and with no bike path over the Coronado Bridge, I threw my rental bike in the car, parking it at the last area of buildings on your left (facing south) on Route 75. This is where the bike path begins.

There were some "off road" stretches that paralleled the paved path. There are nice views of San Diego all along the way.

A nice and easy ride though there was a pretty strong off shore breeze. The ocean side is to your right, San Diego Bay, on the left.

Approaching the end of the path in Imperial, just a few miles from the Mexican border.

There are wildlife refuges along the way.

The mountains of Mexico. Overall a pleasant ride.
